New ecological records will help partner institutions evaluate restoration and shoreline resilience.
A repeatable survey
Wrenfield and regional conservation partners have completed a third field season measuring young-tree survival, sediment conditions and changes in tidal access at monitored mangrove sites.
The work emphasizes methods that local teams can repeat with available equipment, allowing long-term assessment without reliance on visiting specialists.
Next steps
Teams are reviewing discrepancies between original restoration projections and observed plant survival. Results will be published with uncertainty ranges, including sites where intervention has yet to produce the expected benefit.
See relevant program pages and the Research & Publications section for background and methods.
