The assignment
Investigators may reconstruct environmental incidents, interview witnesses, identify causal human activity, assess records involving wildlife and habitat disruption, and prepare material for legal, reputational, economic or operational decisions.
Investigations can arise from outside commissions, internal conservation priorities and strategic assessments supporting the Foundation's response options.
Competitive backgrounds
Relevant experience includes ornithology, ecology, biology, field research, journalism, investigations, analysis, veterinary support, conservation operations, regional expertise and foreign languages.
The common traits are observation, ethics, adaptability, judgment and calm under pressure. No single occupational history guarantees suitability.
Selection and preparation
Prospective applicants should first understand the Foundation's wider mission and public field programs. Initial enquiries are handled through the recruitment process; sensitive assignment details are addressed only where appropriate.
